This school is composed of mostly Hindu students from low-income families who are sponsored by the government. There are also numerous Muslims and Christians at the school, with Seventh-day Adventists making up a small minority. The majority of the students are Hindu.
About sixty students (20 male and 40 female) are staying in the hostels, the school's on-campus dormitories. There is one warden for each hostel.
This is the first school in High range of Idukki to have English medium of teaching.
Students have the option of studying the syllabus prescribed by the state government of Kerala or by the Indian Council of Secondary Education (ICSE) in India.[1] This separation begins in 8th Standard.
